ISO 9001 for a Construction company in London


“Let me start by saying, contacting AvISO was the best thing we did in regard to ISO 9001 2015. We are a successful construction company which has been running for 5 years, expanding all the time, and thought it would be good to become ISO 9001:2015 accredited. We originally became  ISO 9001: 2015 accredited in May 2016. This was all very new to us, but we eventually got there. But the problem was maintaining the QMS. This included policies, procedures records and other documents. To be honest I didn’t know where to start. As mentioned previously this was still all very new to us and my understanding of ISO 9001 wasn’t great. We contacted AvISO and spoke to Paul Stevens, who was very helpful and got the ball rolling by a site visit. I started off by saying exactly what we were looking for, basically a lot of help. Paul understood exactly what kind of help we needed. Not long after he assigned Oliver Leaney who was our consultant. He came to our office and started the process of organising our QMS and carried out our internal audits. Oliver guides us every step of the way. He helps with any issues and will answer any questions however silly you may think the question is. In May 2017 we passed our external audit and maintained our certification. Oliver still gives us ongoing support and site visits to maintain our QMS and he’s just a phone call away if you have any questions.”

We took an old templated system that was issued from the internet and transferred the relevant information from the manual to a new updated process led management system with bespoke procedures. The templated system did not really explain what was required and added confusion to the business. Our approach was to work through the processes and procedures together so that the end result would be a new management system, but also an understanding of the ISO 9001:2015 requirements. We took a registered ISO 9001 business through to be a certified UKAS approved ISO 9001:2015 business.
