AvISO supported the business through a structured programme of remote consultancy and onsite audits, developing and embedding key compliance registers, including legal and environmental aspects and impacts, and closing gaps identified during Stage 1 audits. The project integrated internal audit activity across standards and established a clear, auditable framework using the ISOvA Toolbox as Puffin Produce’s Integrated Management System. This approach enabled Puffin Produce to progress confidently towards Stage 2 audit readiness, with a scalable system in place to support ongoing compliance and future standards.
Following Puffin Produce’s Stage 1 audits for ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, we were engaged to help strengthen readiness for certification by embedding the management systems into the way the business already operates.
Our support combined onsite and remote work, bringing management system structure, clarity and assurance to processes the team already understood well. Richard and the wider team are highly knowledgeable about their operations and risks. Our role was to apply ISO 14001 and 45001 expertise in a way that complemented that knowledge, strengthened controls, and ensured the systems genuinely support daytoday activities rather than sitting alongside them.
It was a strong partnership, focused on making the management systems practical, proportionate and effective, and giving the team confidence moving forward.
A key factor in the success of this project was the strong collaboration between AvISO and the Puffin Produce team. Puffin’s openness, responsiveness and commitment to engaging with the process enabled audit findings to be addressed quickly and effectively. Combined with AvISO’s structured approach, thorough internal audits and use of the ISOvA IMS Toolbox, this partnership resulted in ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification being achieved with zero nonconformances, and a sustainable system put in place for ongoing compliance and future standards.
